1. About DU Bookings
DU Bookings ("we", "us", "our") is an online booking and payment platform that connects customers seeking car detailing services with independent car detailers ("Detailers"). DU Bookings is operated as a marketplace — we are not a car detailing business and do not employ Detailers.
By accessing or using DU Bookings (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use DU Bookings. By using the Platform, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
3. User Accounts
Detailer accounts
Detailers must register an account to list services and receive bookings. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
Customer bookings
Customers do not need an account to make a booking but must provide accurate contact and vehicle information at the time of booking.
Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update it as necessary. DU Bookings reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts with inaccurate information.
4. Bookings & Payments
How payments work
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. When you make a booking, your payment is held by DU Bookings and transferred to the Detailer after job completion. DU Bookings charges a platform fee on each transaction (3% for full payments, 6% for deposit payments). This fee is included in the amount charged to customers.
Deposits
Some Detailers require a deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is paid directly to the Detailer on the day of service via their nominated payment methods (cash, bank transfer, PayID etc.).
Payouts
Detailers receive their earnings automatically within 1 hour of marking a job as completed, subject to Stripe's standard processing times of 1-2 business days to reach your bank account.
5. Cancellation & Refund Policy
Customer cancellations
- More than 24 hours before booking: Full refund, minus Stripe processing fees and platform fees (non-refundable).
- Within 24 hours of booking: 80% refund, minus Stripe processing fees and platform fees. The Detailer receives 20% as compensation.
- No show: No refund. The Detailer is paid in full.
Detailer cancellations
If a Detailer cancels a confirmed booking, the customer receives a full refund including all fees. Detailers who cancel repeatedly may receive warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the Platform.
- 1st cancellation within 7 days: Warning
- 2nd cancellation within 7 days: Final warning
- 3rd cancellation within 7 days: 5-day account suspension
Refund processing
Refunds are processed via Stripe and typically take 5-10 business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank.
6. Detailer Obligations
Detailers using the Platform agree to:
- Provide services as described and at the agreed time and location
- Maintain appropriate insurance for their detailing business
- Comply with all applicable Australian laws and regulations
- Hold a valid ABN if operating as a business
- Not discriminate against customers on any unlawful basis
- Respond to customer communications in a timely and professional manner
- Connect a valid Stripe account to receive payouts
7. Customer Obligations
Customers using the Platform agree to:
- Provide accurate vehicle and contact information
- Be available at the agreed time and location (for mobile services)
- Ensure safe and reasonable access to the vehicle
- Remove all personal belongings from the vehicle prior to the appointment
- Pay any remaining balance directly to the Detailer on the day (for deposit bookings)
DU Bookings is not responsible for any personal items left in a vehicle during a detailing service.
8. Platform Fees
DU Bookings charges the following platform fees, which are added on top of the Detailer's service price and paid by the customer:
- Full payment bookings: 3% platform fee + Stripe processing fees (1.7% + $0.30)
- Deposit bookings: 6% platform fee + Stripe processing fees (1.7% + $0.30)
All fees are clearly displayed to customers before payment is made. Platform fees and Stripe processing fees are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation.
9. Prohibited Conduct
You must not use DU Bookings to:
- Provide false or misleading information
- Circumvent the Platform by arranging payments directly to avoid platform fees after an initial contact through DU Bookings
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform
- Post fraudulent reviews or ratings
10. Limitation of Liability
DU Bookings is a technology platform that facilitates connections between customers and Detailers. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:
- DU Bookings is not liable for any damage to vehicles, property, or personal items arising from detailing services
- DU Bookings is not liable for any dispute between a customer and a Detailer
- DU Bookings is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use of the Platform
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the platform fees paid in the relevant transaction
Nothing in these terms excludes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
11. Australian Consumer Law
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. Nothing in these Terms of Service is intended to limit any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on the DU Bookings platform, including but not limited to the name, logo, design, and software, is the property of DU Bookings and is protected by Australian intellectual property laws. You may not use, copy, or reproduce any content from the Platform without our express written permission.
13. Termination
DU Bookings reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time for breach of these Terms of Service, fraudulent activity, or conduct that we determine to be harmful to the Platform or its users. Detailers who are suspended or terminated will have any outstanding payouts processed for completed jobs.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered Detailers of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
